Sakshi Phansekar (b. 2001) through her practice explores lived experience, urban space, and the shifting dynamics of visibility. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Contemporary Art Practices from Sir J.J. School of Art, Architecture & Design, Mumbai, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the MIT School of Fine Arts & Applied Arts, Pune. Working primarily with watercolour washes and markers, Phansekar examines the urban window as both a physical frame and a threshold through which the city, its inhabitants, and everyday life are observed. Her works consider how reflections, distance, memory, and changing visibility shape our experience of built environments, while questioning the relationship between the observer and the observed.
Phansekar has exhibited at Sir J.J. School of Art, Architecture & Design, Mumbai; Frida Art House, Pune; Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai; Darpan Art Gallery, Pune; Nehru Centre Art Gallery, Mumbai; and other venues. Her recent exhibitions include Mockingbirds (2026), Out of Syllabus (2024), Monsoon Art Exhibition (2024), Bridge2Worlds (2024), The Bombay Art Society’s 132nd Annual Art Exhibition (2024), India Art Festival (2024), and India Art Meet (2024).
