Divleena (b. 1994, India) is an experimental designer and artist whose interdisciplinary practice brings together architecture, industrial design, material research, and art. She holds a Master’s in Design in Product Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad (2021), and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi (2017). Rooted in principles of biotensegrity, her practice uses curiosity-driven, research-through-making processes to explore how natural forces and material intelligence can generate emergent forms. Working across soft structures, textiles, woodworking, metalworking, ceramics, machine knitting, and digital fabrication, she explores the technical and expressive possibilities of materials. She is particularly interested in soft materials as a feminist method, allowing natural forces and material behaviour to shape the work rather than imposing complete control. Through this process, Divleena seeks to bring together beauty and efficiency while encouraging curiosity, embodied exploration, and new ways of engaging with form.
Divleena’s work has been presented through exhibitions and public programmes including Soft Nothings at Thinker Maker Space, Nicosia, Cyprus (2024); the live showcase Rolling Sculptures from a Hill at Medienfrische, Boden-Bshlabs, Austria (2024); and projects developed through the Building Kunst Und Architekturschule, Innsbruck, Austria (2023–24). She has participated in residencies including Maker-in-Residence at Center ROG, Slovenia (2025); Artist-in-Residence at Thinker Maker Space, Nicosia, Cyprus (2024); Maker-in-Residence at Valletta Design Cluster, Malta (2024); Artist-in-Residence at Medienfrische, Boden-Bshlabs, Austria (2024); and a fellowship at Building Kunst Und Architekturschule, Innsbruck, Austria (2023–24). Alongside her independent practice, she has worked as an industrial designer and architectural consultant, and has facilitated workshops and teaching programmes across India and Europe. Since 2025, she has also worked as visiting faculty and an external juror at design institutions in India.
Divleena is currently an artist in residence in Space Studio, Vadodara.
