DEBASHRUTI AICH

Born in Jamshedpur in 1990, Debashruti Aich’s artistic practice draws from deeply personal narratives. Before turning to art, she earned a Bachelor of Commerce from Calcutta University in 2011, followed by a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College of Fine Arts, Andhra University, in 2020, and a Master of Visual Arts from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 2022.Aich’s works are autobiographical in nature, reflecting her ongoing dialogue with the self, the body, and society. Through her practice, she reconfigures notions of identity and belonging, creating a visual language that becomes both an introspection and an escape.
 
She has participated in several group exhibitions across India, including Propositions in Paper at Anant Art Gallery, Noida (2025); Speaking of Residues at Dhi Contemporary, Hyderabad (2025); Peers Continuum – A Relay of Reciprocity at Khoj Studios, New Delhi (2025); Nabh Sparsh: Indian Women Printmakers at the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi (2024); and Emerging Palettes – Edition 14 at Srishti Art Gallery, Hyderabad (2024), among others. Aich has also participated in notable artist residencies, including Artshila Art Studios, Siwan (2025); Khoj Peers Residency, New Delhi (2024); and Space Studio Winter Residency, Vadodara (2023–24).
