RAJNISH CHHANESH

Rajnish Chhanesh (b. 1985, New Delhi) is a contemporary visual artist whose ecologically driven practice explores the relationship between humans and the natural world. Working across painting and mixed media, his works emphasize transformation and reclamation, often inspired by natural forms, colours, and geometry. He holds a BFA from Jamia Millia Islamia (2007) and an MFA from the College of Art, Delhi University (2009).
 
Rajnish has exhibited widely in India and abroad, including solo shows such as Voices Etched in Stone at Anant Art, New Delhi (2021) and Transcripts of Relations at Taiwan Art Annual (2018). He has participated in notable group exhibitions, some of his recent exhibitions include Adaptive Realms-Contemporary Art In Miniature at Jaipur Center for Art, Jaipur (2025); Devil Is In The Details at Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad (2025); Transfer Station: The Missing Shadow at Gemeinde Koeln Art and Culture Center in Koeln, Germany (2024); Inside The Outsider at FreeSart Space, Taichung, Taiwan (2022) and Beyond Territory at FreeSart Space, Taipei, Taiwan (2020), amongst others.
 
He is also the recipient of the Lalit Kala Akademi National Scholarship (2011-12) and the H.K. Kejriwal Young Artist Award (2010).
 
Rajnish lives and works in New Delhi, India.
